As a Direct Care Worker, you will play vital part in helping persons served gain independence, develop daily living skills, and reach their personal goals. You'll provide compassionate support in a team-based environment where your contributions are valued.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Motivates and encourages clients who have an acquired brain injury to progress in the home environment as well as in the community
- Assists clients with activities of daily living
- Supports clients by preparing them for their day and assisting them getting to and from work, therapy, and other appointments
- Range of motion exercises
- Performs household services essential to home health care
- Attends concerts, sporting events and other entertainment activities with clients
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with TBI or SCI preferred
- Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or Med Tech certification preferred or required by state regulations
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and physically assist individuals with mobility limitations
- Strong observational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
