We are seeking a detail oriented and organized Banking Paralegal to join our law firm in Queens, NY. The candidate must be comfortable managing multiple files, coordinating with lenders and other parties, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that transactions proceed efficiently and in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Assist in representing banks, lenders, and financial institutions in residential and commercial mortgage transactions.
- Prepare, review, organize, and process loan closing packages, mortgage documents, and lender-required documentation.
- Coordinate closings with lenders, borrowers, title companies, opposing counsel, and other parties to the transaction.
- Review title reports, title commitments, lien searches, and other due diligence materials to identify outstanding requirements.
- Prepare and review closing checklists and track outstanding lender conditions and documentation.
- Obtain and review payoff statements, mortgage satisfactions, insurance documents, entity documents, and other materials required for closing.
- Coordinate the execution and delivery of loan documents and ensure all required signatures and supporting documents are obtained.
- Assist with CEMA transactions, mortgage assignments, refinances, and other lender-related real estate transactions, as applicable.
- Coordinate funding requirements and communicate with lenders and closing parties to facilitate timely closings.
- Handle post-closing matters, including reviewing recorded documents, tracking mortgage recordings, obtaining final title policies, and ensuring compliance with lender closing instructions.
- Maintain organized transaction files and monitor deadlines to ensure all closing and post-closing requirements are satisfied.
- Communicate with attorneys, lenders, title companies, and other transaction participants regarding outstanding items and transaction status.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Banking Paralegal, or Real Estate Paralegal preferred.
- Experience with lender-side mortgage closings and real estate transactions strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with mortgage loan documentation, title reports, lien searches, and closing procedures.
- Knowledge of New York real estate transactions and mortgage recording procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently while supporting attorneys in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Salary : $50,000 - $80,000
