Pest Control Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pest Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, treating, and preventing pest infestations for residential and commercial customers across Network Pest Control's service area. This role manages a daily service route, delivers recurring pest control programs, supports rodent monitoring services through trap checks and inspections, and represents Network Pest Control with professionalism and accountability on every job. Technicians educate customers on pest prevention, identify opportunities for service upgrades, and are expected to complete all documentation the same day as the job.

This is a growth-focused role. Technicians who demonstrate strong performance, customer communication, and a results-oriented mindset have a clear path toward certification advancement, commission earnings, and expanded responsibilities. No previous pest control experience is required — we provide paid training and licensing support.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

The following objectives define success in this role, listed in order of priority:

• Complete all scheduled pest control services within assigned time windows — every stop on the route is a commitment to a customer.
• Conduct thorough interior and exterior pest inspections at each service visit — identify pest activity, entry points, conducive conditions, and recommended treatments.
• Apply pest control treatments safely, accurately, and in accordance with label directions, company standards, and Arkansas applicator regulations.
• Perform rodent trap checks in attics, crawl spaces, garages, and exterior locations — reset, monitor, and document all traps accurately.
• Identify and report rodent entry points and structural vulnerabilities observed during service — flag these to Craig or the office so follow-up can be scheduled.
• Complete a customer walkthrough at the end of every service visit — communicate what was treated, what was found, and what to expect next. Customers should never leave a visit feeling uninformed.
• Educate customers on pest prevention, sanitation practices, and conditions that attract pests.
• Present Network Pest Control's Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum pest control plan options to customers who are not currently on a recurring program — explain the barrier system and the benefits of ongoing protection.
• Identify and present opportunities for wildlife referrals to customers who report wildlife activity during pest service visits — flag to the office immediately so an inspection can be scheduled.
• Request a Google review from customers at appropriate touchpoints — document the request in the daily metrics tracker.
• Accurately document all treatments, materials used, chemicals applied, and service notes in Fieldwork and CompanyCam on the same day as the service. No exceptions.
• Minimize callbacks through thorough inspection and complete treatment execution on the first visit.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked company vehicle — report supply needs before you run out.
• Follow all safety standards including proper PPE use, ladder safety, and chemical handling protocols. Compliance is non-negotiable.
• Participate in team meetings, ride-alongs, and ongoing training as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION

Pest Control Technicians are compensated with an hourly base wage plus performance-based commissions and bonuses as outlined in the NPC Field Technician Commission Plan. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
• Pest Control Applicator License required — company-assisted training and licensing support provided
• 1–2 years of pest control, construction, maintenance, landscaping, or route-based service experience preferred but not required
• Rodent control or wildlife monitoring experience a plus
• Willingness to complete ongoing training and pursue certification advancement

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments. Technicians should expect standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and entering attics and crawl spaces throughout the day. The role includes lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, insulation, dust, rodent droppings, and chemical odors while wearing required PPE.
