What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Field Installation Crew Leader (Construction/Trades Background Wanted) position at Netdemics, LLC?
Are you a hands-on builder looking to transition your construction skills into the stable, booming technology sector?
We are a local IT Managed Service Provider (MSP), and we are looking for a Field Installation Crew Leader to head up our physical infrastructure deployments.
Here is the deal: We don't need a computer geek who sits behind a desk. We have a whole team of engineers for the software side. We need a hands-on, tool-swinging professional who knows their way around a commercial job site, knows how to run a crew, and takes pride in a clean, physically sound installation.
If you have a background in commercial construction, electrical work, HVAC, or general contracting, and you want to get into the tech industry (with cleaner work environments and less weather-dependent schedules), we want to talk to you. We will teach you the tech; you bring the tool skills and the work ethic.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the Crew: Manage a small team of installers on commercial job sites, ensuring work is done safely, on time, and up to code.
- Run the Routes: Pull, route, and manage low-voltage cabling (Cat6, fiber) through commercial ceilings, walls, and conduit.
- Build the Pathways: Cut, bend, and install conduit, J-hooks, and cable trays.
- Mount the Hardware: Securely mount IT and security equipment, including network switches, firewalls, wireless access points (WAPs), security cameras, door access control readers, and A/V systems (TVs, PA speakers).
- Read the Plans: Work off floor plans, blueprints, and schematics to execute the project scope.
- Site Management: Coordinate with site superintendents, other trades, and our internal IT engineers to ensure a smooth deployment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Trades Experience: 2 years of experience in construction, electrical, low-voltage, telecommunications, or a related physical trade.
- Leadership: Previous experience running a crew, managing a job site, or acting as a foreman.
- Tool Proficiency: Highly comfortable with hand tools, power tools, measuring, leveling, and securely anchoring equipment to various building materials (drywall, concrete, steel, etc.).
- Comfort at Heights: Able to work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts.
- Problem Solver: You know how to pivot when the building plans don’t match the physical reality of the job site.
- Valid Driver's License: Clean driving record required to operate company vehicles.
Why Join Us?
- Consistent Work: Say goodbye to seasonal layoffs and weather delays; most of our work is indoors in climate-controlled commercial buildings.
- Learn a New Industry: We will train you on the specific IT hardware, giving you a valuable foothold in the technology sector.
