Job Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to lead our Grocery Department. The Head of Grocery is responsible for overseeing inventory management, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and department operations while ensuring compliance with company standards. This role plays a key part in maximizing sales, maintaining product quality, and providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all daily operations of the Grocery Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and performance standards.

• Manage inventory, ordering, product flow, and stock rotation to maximize sales and gross profit.

• Receive, unload, and properly store grocery products, ensuring accuracy, freshness, and correct documentation.

• Build and maintain attractive displays, ensuring proper product presentation, pricing, and tagging.

• Supervise, train, and develop associates in all aspects of the job, including stocking, merchandising, customer service, and safety.

• Perform daily checks of product expiration dates, removing and replacing items as needed to ensure freshness and quality.

• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe department environment in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

• Respond to customer requests resourcefully and communicate feedback to store management.

• Ensure department equipment is utilized and maintained properly.

• Collaborate with store leadership on department planning, sales strategies, and staff performance.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Previous retail or grocery store experience strongly preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.

• Strong leadership and team development skills.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to follow instructions, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
