About Netcom
Netcom is a growing Telecommunications VAR (Value-Added Reseller) providing network and communication solutions, including connectivity, hardware, and voice platforms. We partner with major carriers and enterprise customers to deliver end-to-end solutions. The business is currently at $6M in revenue with a clear path to $10–15M .
We are looking for a hands-on Controller to take ownership of our financial operations and help us scale profitably.
The Role
This is a high-impact position responsible for building and managing the financial infrastructure of the business. You will work directly with ownership to improve visibility, enforce financial discipline, and support growth.
This is not a passive accounting role. We are looking for someone who wants to build systems, improve processes, and contribute to business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly close and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely financial statements
- Manage general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations
- Build and manage deal-level profitability tracking
- Develop and enforce pricing and margin guardrails
- Analyze margins by customer, product line, and vendor
- Design and manage commission tracking and payouts
- Forecast commission expenses
- Manage cash flow, AR aging, and collections
- Improve workflows across quote → order → invoice
- Implement and optimize systems (Zoho Books, CRM, Inventory)
- Develop forecasts and support strategic planning

- Accurate and timely financial reporting
- Clear visibility into profitability across the business
- Strong control over commissions and margins
- No surprises in cash flow
- Scalable systems that support growth
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of accounting/finance experience
- Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role
- Background in distribution, telecom, hardware, or VAR environments preferred
- Strong understanding of COGS, margins, and inventory
- Experience with commission structures
- Systems-oriented (Zoho, NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, accountable, and proactive
Compensation
- Base Salary: $110,000-120,000
- Performance Bonus: Ability to accelerate based on performance
- Total Compensation: $120,000–$140,000
Growth Opportunity
This role is designed to grow with the company. As Netcom scales from $6M toward $10–15M in revenue, the Controller will play a key role in building the financial foundation of the business.
For the right candidate, there is a clear path to expand responsibilities over time, including financial strategy, planning, and leadership, ultimately evolving into a CFO-level role as the company continues to grow.
