Position Summary
Engineering Intern
Resting at 7,000 feet and surrounded by the San Francisco Peaks, the scenic city of Flagstaff remains an important distribution site for large manufacturers like Nestlé Purina. Just a stone's throw from downtown, where the city's culture comes to life, we get to experience the best of both worlds: the city and the mountains. Annually, the Nestlé Purina team in Flagstaff proudly mass manufactures 280,000 tons of dry pet food from our Dog Chow®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Alpo®, and Pro Plan® brands. Our factory is also proud to do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

Learn from our expert Engineering team while gaining valuable real-world experience in a highly automated and complex pet food manufacturing facility. - Prepare specifications and develop bid scopes for contractors.
- Develop estimates and source equipment for projects.
- Create design solutions to address areas of opportunity in accordance with engineering standards pertaining to safety, sanitation and production impact.
- Assist in supervising contractors and maintenance personnel on capital upgrades and projects.
- Contribute to team effort by engaging in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) activities to drive results.
- Engage in a safe and healthy work environment.
- Must be a college student of Engineering who is preferably entering senior year in the Fall of 2026.
- Must be available to sustain up to a one-year internship commitment (Spring 2026 to Spring 2027).
- Must be available to work approximately 20 hours per week on-site at the Flagstaff manufacturing facility.
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not required.
