Summary
The Distribution Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective execution of distribution and logistics operations. This role oversees warehouse, shipping, and transportation activities, including the loading, unloading, storage, and delivery of goods. The position develops and implements cost-effective, Lean-driven strategies to ensure products are received, stored, shipped, and delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end distribution processes from production through final customer delivery.
- Develop and implement distribution policies and procedures to support efficient, safe, Lean, and cost-effective operations.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the movement of goods across transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment functions.
- Manage warehouse operations, including inventory storage, handling, and material flow.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and ensure timely replenishment.
- Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methods to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and standard work.
- Supervise, train, and develop warehouse and shipping staff while promoting a safe and positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, including applicable import/export and customs regulations.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, manufacturers, and customers to support smooth operations and on-time deliveries.
- Analyze operational performance, generate reports, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive initiatives that improve service levels while reducing distribution and logistics costs.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse management.
- Proven experience in supervisory or management roles within distribution or warehouse operations strongly preferred.
- Training or certification in Lean Management, Lean Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Physical Requirements
This position frequently requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Regular activities include standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions. Occasional activities include walking, handling or feeling objects, balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
