Pharmacy Technician

Job description

Nest-Rx (closed door pharmacy) is seeking a dependable and CA licensed Pharmacy to join our growing team serving hospice and LTC (long term care) patients. The qualified candidate will undertake other tasks under the direction of a supervisor or pharmacist to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, works well under pressure, detail-oriented and reliable. Candidate must pose excellent communication and computer proficiency

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications by counting, pouring, labeling, and packaging pharmaceuticals
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies
• Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions by retrieving prescription orders
• Adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in all interactions
• Process new orders and resolve billing issues

Skills

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician
• Ability to resolve issues related to claim errors and denials
• Excellent attention to details
• Ability to take and follow directions
• Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
• Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proactive, diligent, and highly organized
• Previous experience at a LTC or hospice pharmacy preferred
• Must be available to work nights and weekends'

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Pharmacy Technician/Order Processing/Data Entry experience
• Customer Service experience and phone etiquette
• Previous Pharmacy Claim Adjudication experience
• High school diploma, GED or foreign equivalent
• Knowledge of pharmacy ethics, laws, and accountability and control of prescriptions and controlled drugs
• Ability to work nights and some weekends

Job Type: Part-time or Full time

Salary: 20-25/hr
