About the Role:

The Assistant Manager, Purchasing & Production supports the planning, coordination, and execution of procurement and manufacturing activities. This role ensures timely sourcing of materials, efficient production scheduling, cost control, and adherence to quality standards. The position works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and production teams to maintain smooth operations and meet organizational goals.

Job Duties and Accountabilities:

• Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability
• Track the delivery of components in support of new product and open stock production
• Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies
• Manage production change alerts to maintain the optimum level of components and raw materials
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts with vendors
• Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery
• Manage issues related to components and raw materials through engagement with cross-functional teams
• Maintain supplier relationships and performance records
• Support production planning and scheduling to meet demand forecasts
• Assist in implementing process improvements to increase efficiency
• Maintain documentation related to procurement and production processes
• Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and company standards
• Track procurement and production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Prepare reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and production performance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production roles
• Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software, Blue Cherry a plus.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Good understanding of production planning and scheduling
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Pay range and compensation package - $80,000 - $85,000 per year with annual bonus potential.
