Job Title: Sales Application Engineer

Location: Catoosa, OK

Position Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused Sales Application Engineer to support our sales team by bridging technical expertise with business value. This role is heavily pre-sales oriented but also involves managing opportunities through the full sales lifecycle—from initial engagement through proposal and close.

You will work directly with customers, contribute to RFPs/RFQs, and lead the technical aspects of presentations and solution development.

The ideal candidate is both technically strong and commercially aware—able to translate complex product capabilities into clear, compelling solutions for customers while helping drive deals to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team to support pre-sales activities, including RFPs, RFQs, and customer proposals
  • Manage the sales process from cradle to grave, including qualification, solution development, proposal, and close
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert on the product line
  • Lead or support the technical portion of customer presentations and discussions
  • Translate technical features into practical business value and solutions for customers
  • Review customer specifications and requirements to identify the best-fit applications and solutions
  • Assist in developing customized solutions aligned with customer needs and project goals
  • Act as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external customers throughout the sales process
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a customer-facing, pre-sales, or application engineering role
  • Proven ability to manage opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience supporting RFP/RFQ processes preferred
  • Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, sales-driven environment

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with heat exchangers, cooling systems, or gas compressors strongly preferred
  • Background in industrial, energy, or process systems applications
  • Experience in solution-based or consultative selling environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical specifications
