Position Title: Planner
Location: Fullerton, CA (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Planner to support utility operations, construction, maintenance, and project coordination efforts. The ideal candidate will have direct, hands-on experience working with Southern California Edison (SCE), including familiarity with SCE systems, standards, workflows, and compliance requirements.
This role is responsible for developing detailed work plans, coordinating field activities, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with SCE specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain project work plans, job packages, material lists, and scheduling documentation.
- Utilize SCE-specific tools and systems, such as:
- SAP
- ClickSchedule / ClickMobile
- Pole Loading / PLS-CADD (if applicable)
- CIM, Design Manager, DDS, and LRP
- Coordinate with field crews, engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure accurate job planning and safe execution.
- Prepare and validate construction drawings, work sketches, and as-built documentation.
- Identify resource, equipment, and material requirements according to SCE standards.
- Ensure all work complies with SCE safety rules, CPUC regulations, GO 95/128, and environmental standards.
- Track project progress and update schedules, scope changes, and cost impacts.
- Support permitting and right-of-way documentation as required.
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to support project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, construction coordination, or project support within the utility industry.
- Must have direct Southern California Edison (SCE) experience—such as planning, scheduling, design support, or field coordination.
- Proficiency with SCE systems including SAP, Click, Design Manager, or comparable platforms.
- Understanding of transmission/distribution standards, job package development, and field construction processes.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of CPUC requirements, GO95/128, and utility safety standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maps, and work prints.
- Planning designer Overhead and Underground for Capital Hand Offs (CHO) for SCE directly
