Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling staff shifts and ensuring efficient workflow
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting clients with equipment rentals, sales, and dive bookings
- Manage inventory control, including purchasing supplies, stocking gear, and maintaining equipment standards
- Supervise team members through training & development initiatives, coaching on sales techniques, safety protocols, and product knowledge
- Handle cash handling procedures such as cashiering and POS transactions accurately and securely
- Coordinate marketing efforts to promote shop specials, dive trips, and special events to attract new customers
- Conduct employee orientation and interviewing to recruit talented staff aligned with our service standards
- Monitor retail math metrics like pricing strategies and sales management to meet business goals
Experience
- Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within retail or hospitality environments
- Strong background in retail sales, inventory management, and store management practices
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued
- Demonstrated leadership in team management, training & development, and shift supervision
- Familiarity with POS systems, purchasing procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and cash handling
- Experience in customer service roles within a retail or recreational setting such as a grocery store or specialty shop
- Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced environment; organizational skills are essential
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and merchandising techniques to boost sales and customer engagement
