Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling in Epic software
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization and verification, and handle billing inquiries with precision
- Manage patient records by updating and maintaining electronic health records and HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including medical history forms, and consent forms
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information or directing calls to appropriate staff members
- Maintain organized filing of medical records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive health information
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative role within a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such in Epic
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key)
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage filing systems, appointment schedules, and patient records effectively
