The Role
The Central Asset Manager helps European business units use technical assets more efficiently and profitably. Working within the European Central Asset Team (ECAT), the role improves asset visibility, resolves project shortages, reduces external subhire and supports cross-border collaboration.
Each postholder is the main contact for an assigned region but supports the wider European business. Solutions are developed with local teams, balancing project delivery, commercial value and group priorities. Unresolved issues are escalated to the European Central Asset Manager (ECAM).
Key Responsibilities
- Help business units secure equipment for projects, using internal assets before external subhire.
- Review project demand, availability and departure dates to identify shortages and priorities.
- Coordinate short-term and cross-border equipment movements with local asset teams.
- Assist with recommendations on long term equipment relocation to the ECAM
- Assess options using availability, transport cost, utilisation, margin and delivery requirements.
- Challenge subhire requests, compare internal and external options, and record savings or cost avoidance.
- Support supplier reviews and maintain the preferred European supplier list.
- Keep up to date with market and technical developments to assist in purchase recommendations
- Promote accurate use of rental systems and agreed European data standards.
- Monitor incomplete or inconsistent project and asset information and drive corrective action.
- Identify recurring issues, utilisation opportunities and potential strategic asset redeployment.
- Maintain clear records and provide concise operational reporting and recommendations to the ECAM.
- Build trusted relationships across Operations, Technical, Commercial, Project and Asset teams.
- Share best practice and support new systems, workflows and agreed ways of working across Europe.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in asset management, operations, logistics, technical resource planning or a similar live-events environment.
- Working knowledge of professional video, audio, lighting, rigging or related technical equipment.
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to compare cost, margin and utilisation options.
- Analytical, organised and confident solving problems in a fast-moving environment.
- Able to influence and collaborate across teams, countries and cultures.
- Confident using rental management systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office.
- Clear written and verbal English; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Willing and able to travel across Europe when required.
