Position Overview
NeoVolta is seeking a Product Manager in the Solar Inverter space to lead the development and lifecycle of our commercial and industrial energy storage systems, including three-phase hybrid inverters, battery packs, and accessories. This is a hybrid role, ideal for an Electrical Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in power electronics, looking to transition into product management while staying close to the technology.
You'll bridge the gap between engineering and market needs- defining product specifications, testing systems in the lab and field, and leading product certifications for national compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the product lifecycle for C&I solar inverter and ESS solutions
- Define product requirements and technical documentation
- Conduct lab testing and support field validation of new systems
- Lead certification processes (CEC, SGIP, HECO, LUMA, UL, etc.)
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and compliance teams
- Support sales and marketing with product launches and training
- Travel up to 30–50% for field work, customer support, and testing
Requirements
- 2–5 years as an Electrical Engineer focused on power electronics
- Experience with solar inverters, battery storage systems, or ESS
- Familiar with single-line diagrams, BOMs, and cost structures
- Project or product management exposure (Gantt charts, timelines, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and technical writing
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel nationally
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of UL1741, IEEE 1547, NEC codes, or utility certification programs
- Experience in lab testing, field commissioning, or systems integration
- Comfortable interfacing with cross-functional teams and installers
