Overview
The Nora Springs–Rockford Register is seeking a motivated Advertising Manager to sell both print and digital advertising for our weekly newspaper. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with local businesses, building relationships, and supporting strong community journalism. It is a commission-based role with excellent earning potential for the right person.
Position Focus
This role is focused entirely on advertising sales. You will partner with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to create effective advertising solutions across print and digital platforms while helping sustain and grow a trusted local newspaper.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell print advertising in the weekly Nora Springs–Rockford Register
- Sell digital advertising, including website ads, e-edition placements, social media advertising, and sponsored content
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and organizations in Nora Springs, Rockford, and surrounding communities
- Develop basic advertising concepts or collaborate with our design team to produce effective ads
- Manage sales leads, client communication, and follow-ups independently
- Represent the newspaper professionally throughout the community
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in sales, advertising, or marketing (local or newspaper experience is a plus)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Familiarity with digital and social media advertising is helpful but not required
