Nelson Jones is seeking a confident, empathetic, and highly motivated Intake Specialist to join our growing Family Law team.
This is not a traditional receptionist role. We are looking for someone who can build trust quickly, guide potential clients through difficult situations, and confidently help them take the next step toward hiring legal representation.
Every call you take represents someone going through a major life event — divorce, custody disputes, protective orders, or other emotionally charged family matters. The right person for this role knows how to listen, communicate with empathy, and confidently guide conversations toward action.
This is an inbound sales role. The leads are already coming to us. Your job is to connect with potential clients, understand their situation, explain our process, and help convert qualified leads into retained clients.
No prior legal experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. However, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and sales ability are essential.
What You’ll Do
- Answer inbound calls from prospective family law clients
- Build rapport and establish trust quickly
- Gather information and evaluate potential cases
- Guide callers through the consultation and retention process
- Follow up with potential clients who have not yet retained
- Maintain detailed and accurate notes in our CRM/case management system
- Coordinate consultations and attorney scheduling
- Work closely with attorneys and leadership to improve conversion rates and client experience
- Help people during some of the most stressful moments of their lives
What We’re Looking For
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Confidence speaking with people over the phone
- Ability to control and guide conversations naturally
- Sales experience required
- Experience in hospitality, customer service, inside sales, or high-end client service is a plus
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emotional conversations
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Competitive, goal-driven mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong follow-up habits and sense of urgency
Compensation & Opportunity
This is a high-impact role within our Family Law department, and we believe great intake professionals should be compensated accordingly.
Compensation includes:
- Starting base salary of $60,000 bonuses
