Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining different year, make, model vehicle at our dealership. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent problem-solving skills and proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter. Must have their own tools. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency and safety across our facilities. As a mechanic at our buy here pay here dealership, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of pre-owned vehicles in our inventory and assisting customers with vehicle concerns. This role requires someone who is self-sufficient, organized, and possesses the necessary tools to perform high-quality automotive work.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and recommend solutions to management.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Repair or replace worn or defective parts, including brakes, and suspension components.
- Can work on major work like engine and transmission is a plus but not required.
- Ensure all repaired vehicles meet safety and quality standards before being sold or delivered to customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding work progress, required parts, and vehicle updates.
- Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or in a similar role.
- Must own and maintain a personal set of mechanic tools sufficient for all duties.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic systems and ability to read vehicle schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems efficiently and safely.
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive certifications (ASE or similar) preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Has past job experience at a mechanic shop is a must.
Work Environment and Conditions
