Position Summary
Neill Aircraft Company is seeking a TIG Welder to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This position is responsible for for performing precision Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) on aluminum, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and other aerospace materials while meeting customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in producing high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), blueprints, and work instructions.
- Weld aerospace components using aluminum, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and other approved materials.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and shop orders.
- Inspected completed welds to verify compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering and Tooling departments to improve weld fixtures, processes, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Assist with updating welding instructions and process documentation when needed.
- Complete required production paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Work effectively with supervisors and team members to support production goals.
- Have own personal tools (welding helmet, glove, etc.)
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience welding aluminum, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys; titanium welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read basic blueprints and works instructions.
- AWS D17.1 certification required.
- Ability to pass groove and fillet weld qualifications test on 0.040" material.
- Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and commitment to workplace safety.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or otherwise authorized to access U.S. Munitions List (USML) technical data in accordance with applicable export control regulations.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants selected for an interview will be required to complete a hands-on welding test.
- Candidates must provide their own basic welding equipment.
- Due to export control regulations, this position required access to U.S. Munitions List (USML) technical data. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or otherwise authorized by the U.S. government to access controlled technical data.
Physical Requirements
This position requires prolonged standing, frequent use of hands and arms, and the ability to perform repetitive movements throughout the shift. Employees must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Close vision, depth perception, color recognition, and the ability to focus on detailed work are required. Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment around moving machinery, welding equipment, airborne particles, and loud noise. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn at all times.
