Location: Redmond

Compensation: $33.47/hour (plus .50 for Bilingual Spanish)

Hours: Regular full-time 40 hours/week, subject to normal school year furloughs (furloughs are approximately a total of 8 weeks per year)

NeighborImpact’s Head Start Program Overview

NeighborImpact Head Start is a comprehensive early education program serving children and families in Central Oregon. It integrates high-quality pre-kindergarten education with essential services such as health, nutrition, and family advocacy. Operating across multiple sites, NeighborImpact Head Start supports social competence, school readiness, and overall well-being of children from ages three to five.

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

This position’s general day-to-day responsibilities include: in-class observations of students that may be experiencing challenging behaviors, working with teaching staff to collaborate on and implement individual student plans, overseeing classroom inclusion supplies, professional goal development with classroom staff and other staff, prepare and engage staff and parent trainings throughout the school year.

This role’s has primary responsibility to coordinate and implement the disabilities, inclusion services, and mental health component of the Head Start program to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. This role monitors for program quality and compliance, provides coaching/input to classroom staff related to disability, inclusion, and mental health services, reviews implementation, and identify professional needs. Rarely, this position may need to act as a substitute in a classroom if staffing needs are urgent.

Requirements:


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Special Education, Education, Early Intervention or related field with significant college course work in child development, disabilities, special education, and/or early intervention required.
  • Two years related work experience in an Early Childhood/Early Intervention setting or equivalent required
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor to attend to children’s needs required. This position is rated as active and regularly requires the individual to lift 50 pounds
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of current auto insurance
  • Food Handler’s Card
  • Access to reliable transportation required
  • Current enrollment in the OR Child Care Division Central Background Registry
  • Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required
  • Above certifications must be kept current to remain employed
  • Must have an initial health examination so as to assure that employees do not because of communicable diseases, pose a significant risk to the health or safety of others, that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.

Preferred

  • Head Start experience preferred
  • Head Start parent or past parent preferred
