Supervises: Care Specialist(s), Intake/Outreach Coordinator, Interns/volunteers as assigned

Salary Range: $76,000- $81,000
Neighborhood Self Help by Older Persons Project (SHOPP) is a community-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the strength and resilience of individuals, regardless of age or ability, through innovative programs and supportive services.
Program Description
The SHOPP Caregiver Support Program (CSP) provides services to:
Adults 18 and over providing unpaid care to a family member or friend aged 60 and over or related disorders.
Older adults 55 and over caring for:
*An adult (18 59) with a disability.
*Children or grandchildren (under 18) in kinship caregiving arrangements.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the day-to-day
supervisory, administrative, and operational support of the SHOPP Caregiver Support Program (CSP).
The Assistant Director ensures program compliance with NYC Aging standards, provides direct
supervision to program staff, supports quality assurance and reporting, and assists the Program Director in all program-related activities, planning, and community engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Support the Program Director in all program-related planning, operations, and service delivery.
*Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of program goals, policies, and
procedures.
*Participate in NYC Aging, CPO, and other required supervisory and provider meetings.
*Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc program reports.
*Complete and submit incident reports in accordance with agency and NYC Aging requirements.
*Ensure program activities align with contractual obligations and performance measures.
*Provide direct supervision to Care Specialist(s) and assigned staff.
*Conduct monthly individual supervision sessions and document accordingly.
*Complete initial supervisory reviews of client assessments within funder-required timeframes.
*Conduct six-month and annual performance evaluations.
*Monitor staff caseloads, productivity, and documentation for compliance and quality
Foster a supportive, collaborative, and professional team environment.
*Complete performance evaluations and support staff professional development.
*Meet regularly with the Program Director to receive supervision, feedback, and guidance.
*Oversee quality assurance processes, including caregiver feedback and satisfaction reviews.
*Monitor service delivery outcomes and recommend program improvements.
*Ensure timely and accurate case documentation and data entry in NYC Aging designated systems Monitor and manage staff time and attendance, including PTO tracking and approvals.
*Assist with recruitment activities, including participating in interviews and completing reference checks.
*Ensure staff meet required training, certification, and professional development requirements.
*Maintain and support staff compliance with agency policies and procedures.
*Compile, update, and maintain caregiver and community resource information.
*Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations and service providers.
*Represent the program and agency at community meetings, outreach events, and stakeholder
convenings.
*Provide extended availability, including evenings and weekends, to support program events as
needed.
*Assist with outreach strategies to increase caregiver engagement and service utilization
*Engage in monthly budget meetings.
*Support and coordinate program events, workshops, and community presentations.
*Stay current on aging and caregiver best practices by participating in professional development
opportunities and subscribing to relevant industry resources.
*Represent SHOPP professionally in public forums and stakeholder meetings.
*Supervise and support interns and volunteers as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in social work or a related field with a minimum of two years of relevant
experience, including supervisory or program coordination experience required.
Work Schedule and Conditions
*Hybrid work schedule; must report to the office a minimum of two days per week or as assigned.
*Availability for evenings and weekends to support program and community events.
*Must be able to travel to community events and fieldwork as needed.
*Required attendance at in-person meetings, trainings, and program events.
