Behavioral Health Manager

Overview

The Behavior Health Manager oversees and coordinates behavior support systems and services across programs through referral management, family engagement, data oversight, intern supervision, and partnership coordination. Responsibilities are carried out through classroom observations, planning, documentation review, meetings, and collaboration with staff, families, and external providers to ensure consistent and effective behavior support delivery. Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor Behavioral Health and Sensory Room interns.
• Cultivate relationships with local Universities to ensure a pipeline of interns
• Through internal referrals and observations, develop individual behavior plans that address the unique needs and goals of the client.
• Monitor fidelity of behavior plans through documentation review and team communication.
• Identify children requiring services beyond internal program scope. Coordinate referrals with families and obtain appropriate consent.
• Actively seek out and develop partnerships with organizations that can support the individual needs of our children outside of our internal processes.
• Implementing and monitoring effectiveness of behavior intervention plans
• Documenting and maintaining accurate records of clients' progress and treatment
• Sensory program development through use of our Sensory Room and classroom sensory interventions.
• Ensuring our Sensory Room and its features are maintained.
• Collaborate with other members of the Neighborhood House educational team, including management, teachers, family support, and therapists.
• Providing training and support to parents, caregivers, and teachers to help manage problem behaviors effectively
• Arrange meetings with parents to explain observed behaviors, provide support, and progress updates.
• Advising on strategies for managing challenging behaviors and creating positive behavioral changes
• Staying up-to-date with the latest research and developments in behavioral intervention methods
• Ensure compliance with NAEYC accreditation standards, Health Department guidelines, Child Care Licensing Regulations, HIPAA, and ethical practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field
• Background in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) preferred
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
• Understanding and knowledge of sensory room usage
• Must be able to pass a Child Care Licensing background check.
• Experience in behaviour support, early childhood mental health, case management, or related services required. Experience with systems coordination, referral management, or program oversight preferred. Experience supervising staff or interns preferred.
