Title: Marketing Intern

Reports to: Marketing & Media Relations Director
Pay Range: $17.00 per hour
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Status: Part time (up to 25 hours per week)
Duration: June 1st - August 28th
Position Overview
NAICA is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Intern to support our Marketing team in advancing the organization’s brand, visibility, and fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a diverse skill set spanning public speaking, networking, branding, digital and web design, photography, and journalism.
The Marketing Intern will play an active role in both behind-the-scenes strategy and front-facing engagement, helping to tell NAICA’s story and strengthen our connection with the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing and branding initiatives
- Represent NAICA at community events, outreach efforts, and networking opportunities
- Support fundraising campaigns through content creation, outreach, and donor engagement
- Design digital assets (social media graphics, flyers, newsletters, etc.) aligned with NAICA’s brand
- Assist with website updates, design enhancements, and content management
- Capture and edit photography and visual content for marketing use
- Research, write, and edit content including blog posts, press releases, and newsletters
- Support social media strategy, including content planning, posting, and engagement tracking
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across platforms
- Assist with event planning, promotion, and on-site execution
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, and bend over.
- Ability to lift, reach, and handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to travel to different locations within New York City, as needed
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability in networking and relationship-building
- Experience with branding and storytelling across multiple platforms
- Proficiency in digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of web design and content management systems (e.g., WordPress or similar)
- Photography and photo editing experience preferred
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for community engagement and mission-driven work

- Experience supporting or participating in fundraising initiatives
- Familiarity with social media analytics and marketing tools
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for design and visual storytelling
