Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Huntington, WV / Job Site locations (regional travel required)
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing commercial construction projects from award to completion. This role ensures that all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality and client expectations. The Project Manager leads project delivery teams, manages subcontractor performance, oversees financial and job cost controls, and serves as the primary point of responsibility for project success.

Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver Projects On Time and Within Budget
· Review estimates and preconstruction handoff documentation to establish accurate baseline budgets and schedules.
· Develop and maintain project schedule (master and 2/4-week look-aheads).
· Monitor project progress, identify issues early, and drive corrective actions to prevent delays.
· Perform routine jobsite walk-throughs with Superintendent to verify production vs schedule.
· Manage subcontractor performance and hold trade partners accountable for timelines.
· Continuously review job costs, productivity, and schedule efficiency.
2. Ensure All Work is Executed Safely
· Promote a safety-first culture through daily leadership interactions.
· Ensure project-specific safety plans are created and implemented.
· Conduct and/or participate in site safety inspections.
· Confirm that all subcontractors meet company safety expectations.
· Stop work when hazardous conditions exist — lead corrective actions.
· Attend safety meetings and require JSAs and/or Toolbox Talks to be consistently completed.
3. Manage Job Cost and Financial Reporting
· Own the project budget — regularly review job cost reports and track committed cost vs projected final cost.
· Update monthly WIP projections and forecast percent of completion accurately.
· Track and initiate change orders/proposal requests — draft detailed change requests and negotiate pricing.
· Review vendor/subcontractor invoices for accuracy and proper coding before approval.
· Approve progress billings and coordinate with Accounting team for customer invoicing.
· Monitor labor cost trends and collaborate with Superintendent on crew efficiency.
4. Drive Client, Architect, and Trade Partner Satisfaction
· Act as the primary contact for project stakeholders — conduct regular project and subcontractor coordination meetings.
· Proactively communicate schedule updates, changes, and risk items to clients.
· Resolve conflicts with fairness and professionalism.
· Review project scope regularly to avoid scope creep or misalignment.
· Lead site reviews and punch list coordination, ensuring outstanding issues are resolved timely.
· Protect company interests while fostering positive relationships.
5. Lead the Project Delivery Team and Uphold Core Values
· Facilitate daily Superintendent coordination and weekly project team meetings.
· Assign tasks, set expectations, and ensure accountability across all team members.
· Coach project and support staff; provide guidance on documentation and best practices.
· Enforce company standards for documentation (RFI logs, meeting minutes, daily reports, submittals, etc.).
· Facilitate operational reviews and participate actively in meetings.
· Model professionalism, fairness, perseverance, safety leadership, and team-oriented mindset.
Ongoing Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, safety requirements, and project-specific technical specifications.
- Participate in preconstruction planning and estimating as needed.
- Provide consistent leadership updates for key issues and milestones.
- Coordinate project closeout documentation including warranty packages, O&M manuals, and final as-built drawings.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years managing commercial construction projects ($2M–$10M scale).
- Prior experience working for a self-performing GC preferred.
- Proven ability to interpret drawings, contracts, and technical documents.
- Experience with job cost WIP reporting
- Strong PM software experience (RedTeam, Procore, Viewpoint, MS Project, P6, Bluebeam, etc.).
Preferred
- OSHA 30 certification
- Previous field operations knowledge
- Strong negotiation skills and change-order experience

Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequent jobsite presence; ability to walk uneven terrain and climb ladders.
- Work may be in varying weather conditions.

Schedule Expectations
- Standard Monday–Friday office/site presence.
- Extended hours as needed during peak project phases.
- Weekly leadership or project progress meetings.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
