Under professional supervision of the Director of Residential, assists in all aspects of facility operations; staff training and supervision including selection, performance evaluations, and discipline; gathering of baseline data; assessment, development, and implementation of individual training programs; development and monitoring of work schedules to ensure appropriate coverage at all times; ordering and maintaining food and facility supplies where applicable; and participation in activities of daily living as scheduled for individual Individuals or as a group. Ensuring that all medications are administered as ordered. Functions without direct oversight in accordance with standard operating procedures. Assists with special medical appointments, documentation of treatments, and other administrative projects. Applies generally prescribed standard practices over a wide range of procedures with some latitude for decision making.
- Experience: Generally requires at least 1–3 years of experience in a residential care setting (group home) with developmental disabilities.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though many employers prefer an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification, and often medication administration certification.
