- Stipend program for Saturday work - 4 hours, 8 hours or 12 hours work receives $150, $300 or $450 respectively.
- $67,000-$85,000 (dependent upon experience and qualifications)
- 4:30pm - 2:30am, Monday - Friday (45-55 hours per week)
- Responsible for the safety of the department. Conducts safety audits, submits improvements or fixes to maintenance, investigates incidents, performs periodic reporting to management, and conducts monthly safety training.
- Train and motivate employees to do their jobs safely and effectively; properly care for equipment and tools; work as a team.
- Train and oversee new employees in the department. Create and maintain work hardening and training schedules for the department.
- Notify the manufacturing manager and maintenance of any problems or inconsistencies with tools, equipment machines, and facilities.
- Create and maintain a general housekeeping schedule with responsibilities to ensure cleaning throughout the shift
- Ensure that department and company safety rules are being communicated and followed, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in operations management meetings.
- Responsibility for department material, including labor costs and efficiency metrics.
- Learn to apply six-sigma and lean manufacturing principles in the elimination of waste, cost reductions, and process improvements.
- Ensures that production processes are carried out as required and production schedules are met.
- Reduces scrap and ensures quality in products manufactured.
- Holds employees accountable for their actions and job performances; rewards and recognizes when appropriate, counsels, coaches, and disciplines as necessary.
- Conduct accident/incident investigations for injuries, near-misses, and property damage within 24 hours of the knowledge of an incident.
- Enter information regarding injuries, safety walks, JSA, etc. in the required record systems.
- Lead stretching activities and provide daily communications to the department employees at the beginning of the shift.
- Recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and repair as necessary.
- Perform department preventive maintenance tasks as required.
- Communicate information to the supervisor and team lead of the next shift to ensure effective and safe operations, efficient equipment and material usage, and quality assurance.
- Cover for other supervisors as required due to vacation or absence.
- Mediate problems between employees and issue discipline as necessary to ensure conformance to policies, rules, and regulations.
- Other activities may be assigned in order to maintain the production requirements of the department or plant. Work assignments will be made at the discretion of management.

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associates or bachelor degree in business or industrial technology is preferred.
- Three or more years supervising employees is required.
- One year of experience working in a medium to heavy industrial environment is preferred.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is required, as is the ability to learn and use customized software programs.
- Experience driving powered industrial equipment such as forklift, Bobcat, and overhead cranes and hoists preferred.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) is beneficial, but not required.
- Occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, push or pull materials, tools or other objects.
- Frequently exert up to 20 lbs. of force to lift, push or pull materials, tools or other objects.
- Continually walk or stand.
- Occasionally sit, squat, kneel, bend or climb.

- Gross and fine manual dexterity/hand eye coordination to manipulate. tools, machine adjustments, controls and computer systems.
