Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, and implementation of ITS and transportation systems projects.
- Assist with preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Support systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations and requirements.
- Coordinate with DOT clients, municipalities, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Assist with traffic operations analysis, system integration, and device selection.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Preferred), Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- 0 – 2 years of relevant ITS or transportation engineering experience.
- EIT certification or PE licensure or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Experience with ITS infrastructure such as traffic signal systems, detection, CCTV, DMS, communications, or traffic management systems.
- Familiarity with DOT standards and transportation agency processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with MicroStation, Synchro, VISSIM, or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.
- Willing to work in office and field conditions.
