Neel-Schaffer, an Engineering News-Record Top 180 Design firm with offices in nine states, has an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer to join our growing transportation structures team in the Little Rock office.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the design of bridges, culverts, and retaining structures, along with the leadership skills to collaborate effectively and provide guidance within a team environment of engineers and technicians on a variety of transportation and structures projects. This position will include active participation in the design and delivery of bridge projects, including new bridge design, rehabilitation, widening, and related transportation structures. The selected candidate will be part of a well-established regional bridge team across the Southeast and will work collaboratively with colleagues across offices to support project delivery and technical excellence. Responsibilities may include structural analysis, design development, bridge plan production, load rating, shop drawing review, quality control, and coordination with project teams and clients. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful transportation infrastructure projects while expanding technical and project delivery responsibilities within a collaborative team environment.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Arkansas or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Minimum 5 years of progressive bridge/structural design experience
- Strong verbal communication, technical writing, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenBridge for bridge layout, modeling, and plan production
- Proficiency in bridge analysis, design, and load rating software such as LEAP Bridge Steel, CSI Bridge, AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating, or similar tools used for ARDOT bridge projects
- Working knowledge of ARDOT design standards and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Experience delivering bridge projects for ARDOT and/or other state DOT clients
- Valid driver’s license
