What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scheduler and Phone Triage position at Nebraska Pain Institute?
Role and Responsibilities
The scheduler will greet patients, answer telephones, schedule appointments, prepare patient charts.
- Provides concierge level customer service while interacting with patients, referring offices, and team members over the phone, in person, or via electronic communication
- Greets patients and visitors immediately upon arrival with a friendly demeanor
- Answers the phone promptly and directs call as needed
- Schedules appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of exam and treatment rooms
- Prepares patient charts
- Manages patient flow to reduce patient wait time
- Assists patients as necessary
- Maintains professional relationship with referring offices
- Maintain confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA
- Understanding of medical terminology is necessary
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 1 year of experience in a medical clinic setting
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Skills
- Friendly, inviting and professional personality and presence
- Basic office skills such as typing and filing
- Good organizational skills Attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
