Duties & Responsibilities:
The Service Porter will greet customers, drive courtesy shuttle for service customers, move vehicles from service lane to service parking lot, maintain the parking lot in an organized manner, retrieve customer vehicles, and other duties as assigned. The service porter will be responsible in making sure all vehicles have been properly washed, vacuumed and free of grease stains and smudges on body and interior of vehicle prior to delivery to customer. A paper mat will be placed on driver’s side floor mat when vehicle is dropped off. The vehicle and customer will be checked in and photos will be taken of vehicle with tablet device. Duties will also include greeting customers at entrance or front door as they arrive, picking up parts from local vendors. Increase customer satisfaction by greeting customers in waiting area, operate shuttle vehicle for customers, keeping vehicles clean prior to delivery and effecting repairs correctly the first time. Accomplish and maintain a high level of efficiency. Maintain standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service, and good employee and community relations. Able to accomplish additional duties when assigned.
General Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Neat appearance. Work with minimal supervision. Ability to work with co-workers and management. Speak fluent English. Bondable. Able to read English language and write legibly. Be dependable. Be friendly and courteous. Have excellent customer service skills. Have the ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Must be able to pass a drug test. Work hard to achieve and maintain an efficiency of 125% after 2 years of employment. Able to lift over 60 pounds. Able to work long hours.
Specific Responsibilities:
Attend and participate in meetings as required by management. Attend and participate in training classes as required by management. Report problem areas to management. Notify management of possession or use of illegal drugs by customer(s) and/or employee(s). Maintain a clean facility. Greet customers in waiting area. Wash, vacuum and ensure vehicles are free from grease and oil stains on and inside vehicle prior to delivery. Operate shuttle vehicle to pick up and drop off customers at various locations. Operate shuttle vehicle to pick up/drop off parts from local suppliers and vendors. Maintain valid state driver’s license and clean record (Issued in state of employment). Attend and complete company hazard communication standard and worker right-to-know training. Park and lock all vehicles in an orderly fashion in designated areas. Check all vehicles before driving for expired license. If expired, advise the Manager or Owner. Take all possible precautions to insure the safety and health of you and others. Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles assigned to repair. Notify Manager, Supervisor, or Owner if parts need to be ordered or delays are expected. Assist in expediting the ordering of parts. Perform work assignments in accordance with time schedules as assigned by the Service Advisor. Request work assignment if out of work or temporarily unable to complete a job. Maintain a good working relationship with all other personnel. Other duties will be assigned as needed.
