Supplier Quality Engineer

OBJECTIVES
This role is responsible for executing and expanding on key initiatives inside of the quality organization. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to be flexible in high-pressure situations. This role has primary focus on the quality performance of a diverse group of suppliers in commodities such as, electrical, mechanical, steel, rubber, and fabrication.

• QUALIFICATIONS
• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering and an emphasis on lean
• manufacturing and Quality Management Systems
• 3-5 years of supplier quality experience
• ASQ certification: CQE, CRE, CSQP, preferred
• Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environmentSpecialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experience interacting with cross functional teams including engineering, materials, logistics, sales & marketing
• Experience working with application and validation of welding procedures, preferred
• Demonstrated supplier management skills
• Project management experience or similar skill set
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities. Proficient in Microsoft suite of tools. Experience executing data analytics using statistical software or MS Excel
• Effective two-way communication and executive presentation skills
• Business acumen
• Experience using various quality methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PPAP, etc.nice to have (licenses, programs, or certificates):
• Lean Manufacturing
• 6-Sigma,
• ASQ certification: CQE, CRE, or CSQP preferred
• AWS trained and/or certified is desired
• ISO 9001:2015
