Job Title: Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality)

Role Impact

This position plays a key role in ensuring supplier quality performance, preventing defects before they reach production, and supporting reliable delivery of high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve new and existing suppliers for quality compliance
• Serve as the primary quality liaison between engineering teams and suppliers
• Review drawings, specifications, and supplier documentation
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and quality metrics
• Lead supplier corrective actions and issue resolution (8D methodology)
• Support audits, First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, Acceptance Testing, and Authorization to Ship activities
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework
• Participate in supplier milestone reviews for new programs
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and report findings to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, materials, logistics, and sourcing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with quality methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, DFMEA, and PPAP
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Certification (CQE, CRE, or CSQP)
• Experience supporting welding procedure validation
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
• AWS training or certification
• Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or portable articulating arm equipment

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred
