Job Summary
The Aquatics Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Aquatics Department within a water park resort, ensuring the highest levels of safety, guest service, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. This role provides direct supervision, leadership, and support to aquatics staff while maintaining compliance with all company policies, health regulations, and aquatic safety standards. The Aquatics Supervisor also serves as a Supervisor-on-Duty, supporting emergency response and overall park operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise daily water park operations, including pools, attractions, and slide operations
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and aquatic risk management standards
- Monitor water conditions, safety equipment, and facility readiness
- Conduct daily inspections, audits, and complete all required reports and documentation
- Respond to emergencies and ensure proper incident management and follow-up
- Maintain staff rotations, break schedules, and adequate daily staffing coverage
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to team members
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating aquatics staff
- Support and participate in training programs, including lifeguard certification and in-service training
- Ensure all team members maintain required certifications (CPR, AED, First Aid, Lifeguard)
- Deliver excellent guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the park to support operations and team members
- Ensure compliance with grooming, uniform, and conduct standards
- Assist with inventory, supplies, and operational records
- Partner with Maintenance and other departments to address facility needs
- Support park cleanliness, special events, and overall resort operations
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of aquatics, water park, hospitality, or related experience preferred
- Prior lifeguard experience preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Certifications
- Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training Program certification (required or ability to obtain)
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required
- Valid driver's license required

- Strong knowledge of aquatic safety practices and emergency procedures
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer service focus
Lifeguard Course Prerequisites
- Swim 200 yards continuously using an approved stroke
- Retrieve a 5β10 lb. brick from the deepest part of the pool
- Tread water for two minutes without the use of hands
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
- Ability to swim and respond to water emergencies
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds (with assistance as needed)
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and movement
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including heat and humidity
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
