South Central Human Service Center - Bridges to Recovery - Jamestown, ND - Residential Direct Care Supervisor

Shift Hours: Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This position is generally scheduled as part of the PM Night rotation.

As a Direct Care Supervisor at Bridges to Recovery, a 15-bed, 24/7 facility, working with clients in a residential setting. You will provide positive mentoring and guidance to individuals impacted by behavioral health disorders and substance use disorders. You will serve as a role model, exhibiting a positive and respectful approach in all interactions. You will teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene task, effective communication, and socialization with the goal of helping those you serve increase their independence. An important part of this position is assisting the individuals articulate their goals and what is important for them. You will teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to assist them in reaching their goals.

In this position, you will aid individuals to identify their goals for recovery, learning, and life. You will assist in generalizing the skills clients learn during substance use and mental health groups. You will work with clients to develop effective communication and socialization skills, as well as teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies. You will observe and monitor individuals' condition. documenting and reporting any changes in well-being. You will also assist clients in the administration of their medication.

You will thrive in this position if you have a passion for teaching individuals life skills and how to overcome barriers that may be present in their lives. Previous experience with supervising and training staff will be helpful in this position.

To be considered for the DCA Supervisor position, you must be 21 years of age or older and requires a high school diploma or GED; and three years of work experience providing direct care to special populations. OR a bachelor's degree in a related field. Agency may designate education, training, or medical certification to substitute for one year of the work experience requirement.

Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in supervision, leadership, or staff development areas.

This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
