Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, employment law, and general & commercial litigation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and legal documents to protect organizational interests.
- Lead trial preparation and participate in court depositions to support litigation strategies.
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on statutory laws, procedural rules, and case precedents relevant to ongoing cases.
- Manage complex litigation cases from inception through resolution, including personal injury claims and employment disputes.
- Prepare legal motions, pleadings, and briefs with precision and clarity while maintaining adherence to procedural laws.
- Represent the organization in court proceedings while advocating effectively for clients’ interests.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop compliance strategies and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations.
- Maintain meticulous case management records and ensure timely updates on case statuses.
- Engage in client communication to explain legal options clearly and build strong professional relationships.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the bar in relevant jurisdiction required.
- Extensive experience practicing law with a focus on estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, employment law or related fields.
- Proven track record in litigation including trial preparation and court depositions.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for statutory and case law analysis.
- Exceptional legal writing skills for drafting motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and legal advocacy to achieve favorable outcomes for clients or organization.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Knowledge of procedural laws governing civil litigation processes; experience managing multiple cases efficiently.
- Legal administrative experience including case management systems and document organization is preferred.
