As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals by teaching essential life skills and offering support in daily activities. Responsibilities
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and inclusion in the community.
- Teach and reinforce essential life skills, including adaptive living, vocational, and social skills.
- Assist individuals in setting and working toward personal and professional goals.
- Provide advocacy and guidance to promote self-advocacy and personal growth.
- Transport individuals as needed to community activities, appointments, or work sites.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding individual progress and activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality, person-centered support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California drivers license and access to a personal vehicle (driving required).
- Ongoing proof of current state-required auto insurance.
- Ability to pass required fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer and technology proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, twist, walk, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Compensation
$23.00 per hour, depending on experience and position.
