Appalachian State University is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support a competitive NCAA Division I softball program committed to academic integrity, competitive excellence, social responsibility, and a world-class student-athlete experience. This position assists the head coach in all aspects of the program, including recruiting and retaining high-caliber student-athletes, on-field instruction and player development, and mentoring student-athletes to succeed academically, athletically, and personally.
Primary responsibility is to serve as the pitching coach.

Responsibilities
Other responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all aspects of a Division I softball program including, but not limited to:
- All aspects related to on and off campus recruiting - Assisting recruiting coordinator in recruiting-related activities - Community service planning and engagement - Point of contact with SAAC and team SAAC representatives - Other duties as assigned by the head coach
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of pitcher development
- Must be able to scout opposing teams and develop a report for the Head Coach.
- Strong leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to be actively involved in the Appalachian State and Boone community.
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as they apply to recruitment and player eligibility.
