This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in Wilson - Wilson County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $15.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Instruction. This position is located at 1311 US Hwy 301 South, Wilson, NC 27893.
Bus Driver will transport and monitor students to and from school driving a state vehicle (car, van, or mini passenger bus) on established routes.
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preference
- Working knowledge of vehicle/equipment utilized in performance of daily tasks. Ability to perform pre-operational checks of vehicles/equipment.
- Ability to accurately maintain standard mileage, cargo, and/or cash receipt records. Ability to recognize emergency situations and follow appropriate procedures.
- Working knowledge of applicable traffic laws and other established regulatory requirements for performance of daily tasks.
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
