Position Summary
The Foote?School Development Office works as a team with many shared?responsibilities, including every aspect of school fundraising, alumni relations, events, communications, and collaboration with the school’s Parent-Teacher Council and other groups. The office also organizes events, including Grandparents Day, Young Alums Day, and Alumni Weekend; plans off-campus gatherings for alumni; hosts events for donors and informational gatherings for families; and maintains the database of the school’s various constituents.
The Associate Director of Development role requires managing highly confidential information, superior administrative and organizational skills, and comfort in supervising and overseeing events under pressure. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and flexibility to balance day-to-day priorities with longer-term goals, events, and projects. Professional judgment and mannerisms are a must. This position reports to the Director of Development.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan and execute the Annual Fund program and support major gift and donor relations efforts
- Plan and execute a robust calendar of events such as Grandparents Day, Alumni Weekend, Young Alums Day, and more
- Using the Veracross database, process and acknowledge gifts, and perform ongoing database management and reporting
- Work closely with the team to support and maximize use of the database for reporting, record-keeping, communicating with targeted groups, and collaborating with other offices at Foote
- Participate in Alumni Relations initiatives, including supporting the Alumni Council
- Support the Parent-Teacher Council (PTC)
- Develop and coordinate communication with alumni, past parents, grandparents, and former faculty, including announcements, fundraising appeals, invitations, and website content
- Participate in the life of the school in a variety of ways by attending PTC meetings and events, supporting other offices as needed, and helping with preparations for school events
- Complete additional related tasks as assigned by the Director of Development. The position requires occasional evening and weekend work
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of Development experience
- Experience in an independent school community
- Proficiency in Development Database use, preferably Veracross
- Ability to plan for and manage multiple tasks and set priorities; meet deadlines; work within budgets; and oversee several projects at once
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive attitude and sense of humor
- Initiative, problem-solving skills, and willingness to take on projects of all sizes
- Interest in being involved in school activities and events
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 annually.
