**In Person Position**

The Developer Team Lead is a core role within the Technology Group at the National Business Institute, leading the team of developers to deliver modern, secure, performant solutions to meet the business needs of the organization. This position is expected to translate business requirements into technical solutions, architect the necessary systems, work with the development team to implement the design, and to ensure comprehensive testing and validation. This position will work closely with and collaborate with other members of the Technology Group leadership team, regularly coordinate projects with other supervisors and team leads, and be expected to represent the department during NBI leadership meetings.

Application & Web Development

  • Manage the application and web development team that owns, operates, and supports critical platforms for operations across the organization.
  • Own the integrations with third-party systems, including Salesforce, Shopify, Algolia, Recharge, and Certinia (FinancialForce).
  • Establish engineering processes for software development metrics, DevOps, quantitative techniques, and quality control. Drive work with transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure compliance with architectural guidelines.
  • Work with the Product Owner in execution of the development cycle, including documenting requirements, creating acceptance tests, facilitating the sprint sessions, obtaining stakeholder approval, and guiding final deployment.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.

Research & Experimentation

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Experiment and prototype with new frameworks, platforms, and solutions to find improvements in efficiency and features that can be provided to the business.

Team Oversight and Support

  • Provided guidance, direction, and support to the development team members to ensure they have the resources and tools needed to succeed in their roles, including regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and addressing concerns or challenges they may encounter
  • Participate in supervisor leadership meetings and workshops, providing perspective on the benefits and challenges with implementing organizational strategies from a technical perspective.
  • Be an active member of the Technology Group leadership team by contributing insights, ideas, and strategic input to supporting overall direction and objectives of NBI.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's in computer science and technology, Information Systems Management, or other relevant qualifications or work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in application development management for a small team of developers.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in application development, including experience as the senior most technical resource with a proven ability to architect solutions from business requirements.
  • Experience with a broad range of technology tools, platforms, and activities such as website development, cloud platform management, user authentication and authorization, and SaaS platform integrations.

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of Shopify platform and best practices, with experience in React theme development with Hydrogen components and API
  • Extensive knowledge of Salesforce platform and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps suite of products
  • Extensive knowledge of C# programming language, .NET Framework, .NET platform (aka .NET Core), Microsoft SQL Server, and IIS.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Azure cloud platform, including application hosting and support services, and workflow management tools.
  • An in-depth understanding of development terminology with an ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical staff.

  • Highly skilled in differentiating between recurring/regular situations which should be standardized and documented and unique situations which must be evaluated and addressed ad hoc.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Must have a mindset of continual improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
