ROLE
The AutoCAD Drafter is responsible for taking client drawings or cut sheets and turning them into shop drawings to be reviewed by clients, and production drawings to be used by fabrication. The drafting department also creates detail and hardware drawings for use in business development and shop drawings.
- Use AutoCAD to prepare drawings.
- Create and store drawings electronically.
- Draft technical details.
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
- Prepare drawings that detail plans and specifications.
- Prepare drawings showing the detail and method of assembly.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
- Work with Sales Reps and Project Coordinators to build shop drawing for clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to step out of your comfort zone as you prepare for your next stage.
- Entry level position leading to project management, estimating, inside and outside sales roles.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Architectural Technology or Computer Drafting, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to read and understand architectural and construction blueprints
