Navy Beach Restaurant, a Montauk institution entering its 17th season, is seeking an experienced Beverage Director or Bar Manager to join our leadership team for the 2026 season. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong beverage knowledge, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-volume, destination restaurant.
Navy Beach is a well-established, seasonal, waterfront restaurant located in Montauk, New York. We are known for our coastal setting, elevated yet approachable cuisine, craft cocktails, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. What You’ll Do
Beverage Program & Bar Operations
- Lead and execute all aspects of the beverage program (cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, NA)
- Develop beverage menus and cocktail recipes; ensure consistency and quality
- Manage inventory, ordering, par levels, and cost controls
- Oversee bar setup, breakdown, liquor storage, and wine room organization
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of all bar areas
- Achieve beverage COGS and expense targets
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly beverage reporting
Floor & Service Leadership
- Ensure a consistently high-level guest experience
- Assign service staff to sections and oversee floor flow during service
- Actively support FOH team and step in as needed during peak periods
- Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism
- Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth service
Team Leadership & Administration
- Interview, hire, train, and develop bar and service staff
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations
- Assist with scheduling and shift coverage
- Ensure compliance with cash handling, health, safety, and labor policies
- Support management initiatives, marketing activations, and special events
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of hospitality experience; management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and classic/contemporary cocktails
- Confident, polished leader with a guest-first mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Micros POS, Resy, Avero, and Excel
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
