As a K-12 school-based Physical Therapist in Illinois, your days will include:
- Provide school-based physical therapy services to K-12 students across the district based on student needs.
- Evaluate students’ functional mobility, strength, balance, positioning, and access needs within the educational environment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and contribute to IEP goals and recommendations as appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, families, and school staff to support student participation and independence.
- Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment, positioning strategies, and mobility supports when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and required school-based service records.
- Participate in meetings and communicate progress and recommendations to the educational team.
Job Details
- Position: Contract, ASAP through end of school year
- Schedule: 5 days per week; district is also open to candidates available 3 days per week
- Caseload: K-12 district support; building assignment/caseload based on district needs
Successful Candidates Possess
- An active Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) license (required)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) is not required for this school-based Physical Therapist opportunity
- Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)
- The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
