You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES) in the Network Communications Branch of the N62 Information Technology (IT) Operations Services Division of the N6 IT Services Department at the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO), Stennis Space Center, Mississippi of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Experience: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.- Experience administering and securing complex enterprise Cisco networks, including routers, switches (layer 2 & 3), and firewalls using Cisco IOS (including CLI) and Cisco ISE.
- Experience managing modern network technologies like VLANs and SD-WAN, with deep knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), VPNs, IPsec and OSI model.
- Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and performance monitoring tools (SolarWinds), Cisco Packet Tracer, applying STIGs, and developing technical documentation and presentations.
- Experience planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Experience managing network infrastructure systems including information assurance applications such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems and LAN component configurations to support business processes while maintaining defense in depth security requirements.
