Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
Location: Falmouth, MA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts | 36 Hours/Week
Additional Requirements: Every Other Weekend | Rotating Holidays | Floating to Med/Surg Tele Units as Needed
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and compassionate ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract assignment in Falmouth, Massachusetts. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated critical care professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
The ICU RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients using evidence-based practices and advanced clinical judgment. The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment skills, critical thinking abilities, and experience with complex patient monitoring and critical care equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients using the nursing process
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously update individualized care plans
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses accurately
- Monitor ventilators, hemodynamic systems, and other critical care equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Participate in charge nurse duties when assigned
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards
- Float to Med/Surg Telemetry units based on staffing needs and census fluctuations
- Maintain professionalism and high-quality patient-centered care at all times
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Recent ICU/Critical Care nursing experience required
- Strong understanding of critical care procedures and patient monitoring
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with ICP monitoring and advanced critical care practices
- Strong clinical documentation and EMR proficiency
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
