Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an Inpatient Rehabilitation setting in New York State. The ideal candidate will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support patient recovery and functional independence
- Participate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs and care planning
- Recommend additional therapeutic services and interventions when appropriate
- Conduct evaluations and prepare detailed clinical reports
- Present findings and recommendations to healthcare teams and other stakeholders as needed
- Evaluate and recommend alternative or augmentative communication systems
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment goals and communication strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation settings
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing rehabilitation
- Experience working with adult rehabilitation populations
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
