Job Title: RN Nurse Educator – Maternal Child Health
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (No Extension)
Schedule Details
- Shift: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced RN Nurse Educator to support inpatient maternal-child health units, including Labor & Delivery, NICU, Postpartum (Mother-Baby Unit), and Pediatrics. This role is ideal for a clinically strong nurse with a passion for education, training, and improving patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical education and training across L&D, NICU, MBU, and Pediatric units
- Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development of nursing staff
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and best practices
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to enhance patient care quality and safety
- Assess staff competency and identify training needs
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational program development
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (verification through NYSED required)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
- Strong clinical knowledge and teaching/mentoring ability
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field (strongly preferred)
- Prior experience in a Nurse Educator or clinical training role
- Experience across multiple maternal-child health units
