Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Rochester, New York
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for an Acute Stroke Unit assignment in Rochester, New York. This opportunity is ideal for nurses experienced in acute care, telemetry monitoring, and stroke patient management within a fast-paced hospital setting.
The selected candidate will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with acute stroke, neurological conditions, and complex medical diagnoses while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care within a Med/Surg Telemetry environment
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately
- Assess and manage acute stroke and neurological patients
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies
- Collaborate with physicians, stroke teams, therapists, and nursing staff
- Participate in rapid response and emergency interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols
- Float to similar units based on patient care needs
Requirements
- Active New York RN License required at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- Current NIHSS Certification required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Ability to manage a 1:5–1:7 Med/Surg patient ratio
