Schedule: Night Shift | 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. The RN will work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver life-saving interventions and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs and neurological status
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and sedation as required
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Assist with advanced life support and emergency interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and healthcare teams
- Educate families on patient conditions, treatments, and care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child / Pediatric critical care experience
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active New York State RN License
- Primary Source Verification through NYSED
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- PALS Certification (AHA)
